3 Steps to Starting and Staying on Your Weight Loss Journey

Establishing SMART goals can help put you on the right track to achieve those goals. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timebound. For example, maybe you want to fit into a size 5 dress for a wedding by November.

Perhaps you want to improve your cholesterol levels before your next doctor’s appointment. Make sure your goal is attainable. You need to give yourself time.

Otherwise, you could set an unachievable goal, which only puts stress on yourself.

Once you determine your SMART goals, break them down into smaller, short-term goals as well. For example, maybe you want to lose 1 to 2 pounds each week.
