CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Clarksville Police Department are offering a reward for information about an attempted robbery at the gas station on Dover Road that resulted in a clerk being shot.
The law enforcement agencies are offering $5,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the attempted robbery and shooting.
On Feb. 22 at about 1:40 a.m., someone shot the 40-year-old employee at the Exxon Hi Road at 293 Dover Road, near Dover Crossing.
After the shooting, the clerk was taken to a Nashville hospital in critical condition, according to Clarksville Now news partner Dash 10 Media.
While CPD did not have an update on the clerk’s wellbeing on Monday, the employee is alive according to Detective Michael Patterson.
The suspect was wearing black clothing, a red face covering and purple gloves. He was armed with a black handgun, according to Clarksville Police.
“ATF works closely with the public safety agencies as well as the community to pursue those who misuse firearms by committing violent crimes,” ATF Special Agent in Charge, Mickey French, said in a news release.
“ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence will leverage investigative resources combined with community partnerships to locate the individual/s responsible for this criminal act,” French continued.
